The Slik SGH-300 Mini Gimbal Head solves the three major complaints about gimbal heads: they are big, heavy, and expensive compared to video tripod heads. The SGH-300 is only 6.5' tall and 8" wide, which helps reduce the weight to only 28.3 ounces - the weight of a full-size binocular. It is less than half the price of other brands. Slik didn't stop there, however. The SGH-300 has four scales printed on it, covering pan angle, pitch angle, vertical positioning and fore/aft positioning, making it easy to mount your spotting scope or camera lens in the identical position every time. The quick-release mount is an Arca Swiss type. Its plate has a 1/4"-20 screw and comes with a 3/8"-16 bushing if your optic has the larger mount hole.
